Goldee's Bar-B-Q earns Fort Worth's first Michelin star

Goldee's Bar-B-Q earns Fort Worth's first Michelin star
The Dick Price Road barbecue spot moved up from Bib Gourmand to one star in the 2026 Michelin Guide Texas. It's the first starred restaurant in the Fort Worth area.

Fort Worth has its first Michelin star, and it went to a barbecue joint. In the 2026 Michelin Guide Texas, released Thursday, Goldee's Bar-B-Q at 4645 Dick Price Road moved up from Bib Gourmand status to one star.

CBS News Texas called Goldee's a no-frills barbecue shack next to a diesel machine shop on the edge of Fort Worth. The star puts it in the same league as some of the finest restaurants from New York to Paris to Tokyo. Only three Texas restaurants earned new stars this year. Goldee's was one, and the other two were vegan restaurant Fabrik and Japanese restaurant Kappo Kappo, both in Austin. That makes 19 Texas restaurants with one Michelin star.

Michelin inspectors praised the brisket, along with the turkey, jalapeño-cheddar sausage, potato salad, beans with brisket mixed in, and banana pudding. The guide's description of Goldee's says "it's absolutely worth the hours-long wait in the Texas sun."

The star adds to a long list of honors for the 6-year-old restaurant, which was started by a group of friends from Arlington. Goldee's took the No. 1 spot on Texas Monthly's Top 50 BBQ list in 2021, and Food & Wine named its team among the nation's best new chefs in 2024. It won Bib Gourmand awards from Michelin in both 2024 and 2025. According to The Dallas Morning News, Fort Worth had been the only major city in the Texas guide without a star. Visit Fort Worth CEO Mitch Whitten called the win a huge achievement in a statement. Goldee's joins Tatsu and Mamani in Dallas as North Texas's only Michelin-starred restaurants.
